Bluff Heights CERT & Emergency Preparedness
Prepared neighbors make a stronger neighborhood.
Bluff Heights residents can play an important role in preparing ourselves, our families, and our neighborhood before, during, and after an emergency. BHNA’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) helps organize neighborhood volunteers and provides a framework for communication, safety information, assessment, and recovery when normal emergency resources may be overwhelmed.
In a major emergency, Bluff Heights CERT volunteers may assist with neighborhood safety information, search and rescue, traffic, and recovery operations. Quadrant Captains and Block Leaders help assess conditions throughout the neighborhood and report needs to the local Incident Command Center at Immanuel Place, 3rd Street and Obispo Avenue.
Know Your CERT Quadrant
Bluff Heights is divided into four CERT quadrants — A, B, C and D — separated by 3rd Street and Temple Avenue. Quadrant Captains and Block Leaders help coordinate neighborhood preparedness and recovery efforts.
